My Dream, My Future

My vision for the future entails many goals that I know I will have to work hard to achieve. I feel that the path to accomplishing my goals will be though hard work within my education.

My formal education is a factor that has been the basis for my success throughout primary school and high school. I believe that it will continue to be the tool that will lead me to success in the future. My first and foremost plan is to graduate from high school. I consider this to be a huge accomplishment considering that many people don't make it that far. After graduation I will be attending one of five Colleges and Universities to which I am still waiting for a reply from.
I will attend my chosen school for the following four years. During that time I will obtain the knowledge that I will need for my future career. I hope to graduate after those four years with a bachelor's degree in business. My dream job is to become a buyer for major clothing lines. I have been interested in the fashion industry my whole life and I love to go shopping and pick out clothes.
I feel that the combination of all of the opportunity in the business world, along with my interest in fashion will be the winning formula for my success. Along with using my education as a key to open the doors of success and working hard, am positive that! will be able to achieve my goals.

Change: It Starts With Me ...

Days are passing while we are growing and a lot of things are changing. Change is the solution of our problem. If we want to become better and improve, we must change especially the bad things and our bad attitudes. Change can help us to reach our dreams and goals in life. As a youth I have to change a lot of things, my lifestyle and my attitude. And I hope by doing this I can say that I am a better person I will be happy and contented.

To have a better life, we have to maintain and change many things. As a human,I want to improve the world where I belong right now. I know that change, starts with me. There are many things to be done. First, I have to change myself for the better. I have to improve myself for my own good. To have a good and vigorous life, I have to do the best I can to achieve that by putting a lot of effort to achieve that. I have many dreams, and I know I can reach it as long as I have the self-confidence and determination.

Kannawidan: The Ylocos Festival

Ylocos Sur has a rich heritage and unique culture. However,  it is observed that many of these traditions, songs, dances and other Ilocano culture are no longer familiar with the younger generations. Children of today prefer the modern and novelty dances they see on television shows than the traditional ones.

There is a need to preserve our rich heritage and unique culture. With this in mind, the provincial government of Ilocos Sur has conceived a festival that highlights these culture and traditions and attract local and foreign tourists as well. Dubbed the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival, it is also a commemoration of the anniversary of Ilocos Sur as a province.
A royal decree dated February 2, 1818 separated   Ylocos. The northern part became Ilocos Norte while the southern part became Ilocos Sur which then included the northern part of La Union and all of what is now the province of Abra. In 1854, the province of La Union was created out of the towns that had heretofore belonged to Ilocos Sur and Pangasinan. Soon thereafter, Abra likewise became independent.
On January 29, Kannawidan Ylocos opened with a celebrated mass held at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral followed by a procession of the patron saints of the 40 parishes as well as images of Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary around the province’s capital city, a testament to the deep rooted religiosity of the Ilocanos.
In his homily, Rev. Fr. Roque Reyes, parish priest of Vigan City, said that this festivity is the time to thank the Almighty not only for the abundance He has showered for the province but also for the rich heritage of the province including the strong ties among the Ilocano families.
Residents and even the local and foreign tourists partook of a delicious dinner held at the Plaza Salcedo after the procession. The big crowd enjoyed the fireworks display after the meal.
The Bayanihan Dance Company regaled the Ilocanos with their world class performance showcasing the beauty of the Philippines through dances, music and sounds. The audience lapped up their graceful movements and excellent rendition of songs and dexterity in playing indigenous musical instruments.

New Year, New Me!

New Year, my favorite holiday, is one of the most celebrated days in the world. The day is shaped by different customs and traditions. Each culture celebrates this holiday in its own unique way.

The people start to prepare for the holiday at least one month in an advance. The preparation begins by buying presents, decorating houses, and making new costumes. Obviously the holiday would not be complete without a symbol of New Year which transcended from generation to generation, the New Year Tree, the unique tree having million small needles and staying green throughout the year.Another fresh new year is here... Another year to live to banish all the worries, doubt/s and fear. This bright new year is given me..  to live each day with zest to a daily grow and try to be my highest and my best to reached my dreams come true.. I should love and laugh and give.
In this year I have the opportunity to right all my mistakes and wrongs. And in this year I will make my new years  resolution great and brighter. I will spend more time to my family and friends, learn something new, help others, and enjoy my life to the fullest.
